The Fundamental Beats were formed in August 2006 with the combination of Chris Gledhill, Luke Byrne, Alan McCarthy and Barbara Allen. The group mix alternative rock, blues, pop and funk to form a sound unique in the North Co. Dublin area. The band have played around Dublin and have also run their own series of highly successful, branded gigs for unsigned, local talent under the umbrella of Cabin Fever Records. They have also achieved air play on NEAR FM.The band split in May 07 but have returned to record a track on the DCFE college album in 2009. Since reforming, The Fundamental Beats have taken a new musical direction, writing songs with a raw and alternative edge, which reflect each member’s personal and musical growth during their 18 month hiatus. Their new song 'Shoot the Dj' features on I LOVE FESTIVAL.
